Hi, my name is Peter Stone (he/him). Originally from London, England, I have called Edmonton, Alberta home since 2009.
I came to the social work profession through a career in the creative arts, where I developed a passion for creating community, spaces, and experiences that foster connection, positive change, and meaningful improvements in people’s lives. I work with children, youth, and adults.
Grounded in Narrative Therapy, I am curious about the experiences, relationships, and stories that have shaped each of us and brought us to where we are today. I believe that exploring these experiences can help us develop a greater sense of comfort and connection with ourselves as we navigate an ever-changing world.
I strive to provide a safe, trauma-informed, and judgment-free environment where people feel heard, respected, and supported. I believe we all possess the strength and courage to make the most of the time we have been given, and I consider it a privilege to support people, even in a small way, as they work toward their goals and create lives that feel meaningful to them.
I am a Registered Social Worker and hold a Master of Social Work from the University of Calgary.
My training includes Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), as well as suicide prevention and non-violent crisis intervention.
